** Update: As of June 18, 2020 it appears that the free ad credits are now rolling out to customers in some additional countries, including the United States **
If your business routinely uses Google Ads, we’ve got some great news for you that you probably don’t already know. Back in April, Google announced that as part of their response to the COVID-19 global pandemic they would be awarding small businesses who use Google Ads with an account credit. Who is eligible for the credit?
According to Google’s documentation, any small business that has actively advertised on Google Ads in 10 of the 12 months in 2019 and in either January and/or February of 2020.
How do I apply for the credit?
You actually don’t need to complete an application or take any action. As Google rolls this program out slowly across the world, they will be automatically applying credits to qualifying accounts.
How much is the credit?
According to Google’s documentation, the credits will be “up to a maximum of $1,000.”
What’s the catch?
The only catch is that you must use this promotional credit by December 31, 2020. However, if you’re an active Google Ads customer then this shouldn’t be an issue.
As of the writing of this article, the program has been rolled out to customers in the following countries:
